I appreciate the response, and I agree with everything you've said, except for just one thing - I think there's tremendous scope for improvement with crypto's social and cultural layer. Where you say "greed is necessary", I say, "it can be harnessed far more positively than it is now, and for that, we need to act"

I think the important part of this is that it's going to be hard to onboard the next billion people if half the world thinks crypto is for the worst people on Earth, and we keep proving it with racist memecoins and non-stop grifts. There's visceral hate for crypto out there, and it's getting harder to prove them wrong.

I see it the same way. I think the PVP/"degen" phase is a necessary one that crypto has to successfully pass in order to become what the dreamers imagine it might become. It's the "type 1" phase of the crypto Kardashev Scale, and once this filter is passed I think we will see a massive explosion of advancement.
