Does ENS need to create its own L2 chain or nah? I want to use my .eth address everywhere.

why are you thinking L2 chain for pure ENS? what would be the benefits? how would that make ens resolution available everywhere?

No, but I think there should be some kind of CCIP cross chain protocol to share the info from the L1. Honestly, I’d even sign an L1 transaction if I could list all the addresses across chains I want to reverse record to my ENS.

Does a separate L2 accomplish that?

Your cast reads like it is implicit to not be able to use your ENS everywhere if they were to run their own chain. I am not sure why this would be the case. If they have technical reasons to run an L2 they should go ahead. I think their vision is to let ENS eat the world in any event.
