I hear the concerns and understand the perspective. I’ll just say: Many builders in /flows are still building Our number one priority in the first prop this round was sustainability and bringing in more capital so it’s not a giant charity. Let us build that vision I don’t really get the continuous funding argument, like yes it’s hard to cut someone’s funding, but is it harder on them than downvoting their proposal? Probably not? And does the hardness outweigh the huge benefits flows brought to the table in terms of onboarding and impact? Probably not? We want the same thing for nouns, and we want to make Flows sustainable.

It’s odd to me to say you’re pro community and builders and then to vote down a very popular, proposal people spent a lot of time writing and voting on, with only 15 minutes left. That’s pretty demoralizing to builders and the community. They also need to put forth a vision if they want people to magically contribute to it.

Agree with most but disagree with the analogy to Linux. Linux attracted OSS contributes because there was a clear product to improve. The “product” of nouns is not clear and nouns lacks a coherent vision that would inspire folks to contribute “for free” the same way Linux contributes added work that was mostly solving their own problems. Nouns needs a vision first

I think people aren't that supportive if they don't support a proposal that is going to reward builders on their own way to create nounish stuff

Is the hard and necessary work voting against the proposal? I think there's some really valid points in here. What if individual flows required a prop to authorize them for a set amount of time? That way the DAO can decide which flows it chooses to fund rather than all or nothing?

i think making the flows renewable is a compromise. like default to end every month

I believe more in flows than his point of view. Flows will impact more people than nouns sooner or later ✨ the human part is more important to me in all this, get rewarded for help, create, curate content and make it impactful for the world (flows good to me)

I think this should be looked very carefully since more nouns stake holders denying the prop I would like to see our prop on another platform

thanks to 5gram’s feedback, that was important to hear. I can’t really call flows the philanthropic initiative though, it builds up the community of grateful folks who are saying thanks to flows and to nouns dao every day and prob telling about this to their friends and showing off their noggles etc. they will go and do the same thing without this funding too, they will wake up to feed street dogs, organize beach cleanups, present their art, music, skills etc. yes this might not bring you new contributions to the treasury but it will bring more - backers who are always there rooting for you and pray for your existence. and that strong energy means a lot, trust me. Clean Phangan, the initiative I’m representing here, are active for 5 years every week and a lot has been done since then. funding from flows was a pleasant bonus that they deserve, for some time the founder didn’t pay for supplies from his pocket and for that he is extremely grateful.
