some book series are so well-written and intricately interconnected that, as soon as you finish reading them, you want to experience their characters and story all over again had this three times now: with Harry Potter when I was younger, Dune a year ago, and Foundation more recently

i remember feeling this way about the Redwall series. Lots of later throwbacks and story loops made the series arc feel contiguous. I've since re-read Harry Potter as a grown up and... eh, feels more ad hoc than I remember. JKR loves her deus ex machina literary devices 😁

Make The Dark Tower series next. It trumps all of these series (Not sure about Foundation but I can be almost certain)

strange as it sounds....as a 5-10 year old....I wore out the VHS tapes on Star wars and Dune. Im 45 years old now. Read the Dune series as a teenager and am reading it again now. Loved Harry Potter and even read one of the books in Spanish when I was living in Spain abroad for college. I love Foundation (the series). Is the book as good / better ? I havent read it yet.

What do you think about the lord of the rings series and a song of ice and fire series? I think those are far ahead of Harry Potter in terms of character development and plot twists

Completely different tone but I just finished the Power of the Dog trilogy (cartel/DEA/Mexico) by Don Winslow and it was an incredible series.

Feel this way about the Dark Tower series as well. You really do build relationships and want to spend more time with characters that are written at that level

I have it big time every time I read or even watch something LOTR related. Super stoked for next week's season 2 on Amazon.

I recently had this with The Rampart Trilogy (The Book of Koli) by M.R.Carey. I’m probably going to pass on a new book and re-read this series first. Just re-read the Expanse series cause I love the characters so much.

I totally get that! I’ve felt the same way after finishing series like The Lord of the Rings or A Song of Ice and Fire. It’s tough to leave those worlds behind, and I often find myself wanting to dive back in. Books like these really offer something special
