A very disappointing aspect of the crypto community, for me, is a casual lack of empathy or fairness. Most are flagrantly shilling infra, memecoins & other unsustainable ponzis, without nary an acknowledgement of the reality that >90% people will lose a lot of money, enriching only the 1%. Others are afraid to speak up

I‘m thinking like this too. And my entire project is set up as being extra fair. Never the less I felt the need to emancipate myself above this, and so I launched a joke memecoin site that is basically just playing with the aesthetics and the energy in the market. We gotta play the hand we‘ve been dealt.

You are so right! The space is full of grifters using the “decentralization”, “community” magic spells and even some have the audacity to use the “fair launch” spell which some people still fall for it.

I get if you don't like memecoins but you can't say crypto is not fair without smuggling in communist or communist-adjacent concepts like equity or something I don't think it's fair to characterize the space as lacking empathy and I strongly disagree that "most" are flagrant shills of anything, let alone ponzis

The issue with bootstrapping tech with speculation, is that the demand for the casion later is extremely sticky and addictive. Getting rid of this behavior is really, really hard. Laser eyes had a purpose 5-7 years ago to bootsrap usage, now it is just zero sum games.

Thank You for sharing this! It has been painful for me too to see the vast discrepancy between the theory of crypto speaking about freedom and enablement and the practice which often seems to be more about draining money from others and fomo.
