Instead of toilet seat covers, most places in Japan have alcohol spray, gel, foam, or wipes to clean bathroom toilet seats. And bidets. This should be standard everywhere. Why is everyone else so behind on toilet tech?

I asked myself the same question, hygiene in bathrooms should come first, whether in public establishments, hotels, restaurants etc. It is something that I cannot miss, that culture and its neatness is an example to follow. In my country in very few places you get this as you describe it, only in hotels, or high class restaurants you can see it, the rest is missing too much.
