Living in a post-FTX world, will you: 1. Keep your crypto on CEXs like coinbase, gemini, kraken, or robinhood 2. Go full self custody (soft wallet) 3. Go full self custody (hardware wallet) 4. Other- explain?

1. Coinbase for non-volatile supported holdings, and Iโ€™m not just biased โ€” they are fully compliant, audited and backed 1:1 2. For hot wallet needs I do this 3. For longer term positions of assets I prefer stay off exchanges, I do this but my approach is different than like a ledger (and a lot more paranoid)

I am not sure I trust Gemini or kraken at this point. Only Coin for CEX and then 3, 2.

3 and 2 I use 1 purely as an on-ramp and off-ramp.

All 3. CEX is only coinbase. I used binance when I built an automated buying bot as it was cheaper and had good API available.

4. Have only ever used Coinbase or ledger. Will use more ledger going forward but still keep more liquid positions on CB

4. Keep most of my crypto in a personal multisig. Itโ€™s more secure than a hardware wallet because there isnโ€™t a single point of failure.

all of the above. that's how i've been operating in crypto/web3 for many years now. what i don't do is keep crypto on unregulated CEXs. my mix is Coinbase Prime for the big stuff, Coinbase Retail, Coinbase Wallet, Metamask for some small stuff, and Ledger. I've never used Binance or FTX.

Prev: hybrid ledger/coinbase/hot self custody/binance, now have just moved assets off binance out of principle. Coinbase seems very low risk to me

This is tangential, but what I really wish existed was a trustworthy KYC provider independent of exchanges. Sometimes if you wanna make a risky bet, you can only do that on a shady exchange, but then they have your passport.

โ€ข Longer term bets live on a Ledger โ€ข Hot wallets for NFTs, social tokens and small bets โ€ข CEX only for cashing stablecoins into fiat (living expenses and taxes)
