If you want real customers and you would use your product, then just be yourself on the call. If you swear, swear, if you’re polite, be polite, if you wear suits, wear a suit, just be you. If you’re not you, and you get the sale, the customer sucks, you bought them, or the product sells itself in which case, good job. The other two are going to zero

You also run the risk of losing your facade mid-realtionship which will reveal that you built everything on bullshit. Not great for long term trust.

Uhmmm I see where you’re coming buttt while being authentic is important I feel there is also some need to adapt to different situations as they come and customers. Been yourself is good but don’t you think there is also need for you to balance out staying true to yourself and being mindful of professional context and customers you’re engaging with….

That's an interesting take, and I agree authenticity is key. When you’re true to yourself, you attract the kind of customers who align with your values and approach. But how do you strike a balance between being genuine and adapting to different customer needs? Isn’t there a risk of losing potential clients if they don’t resonate with your personality?

Authenticity is definitely key in building genuine customer relationships…. But what if your natural style doesn't align with a customer's expectations, How do you balance being yourself with adapting to different audiences?

What about situations where professionalism requires a more polished tone? Do you think being yourself can sometimes be misinterpreted?

In some situations authenticity’s just never gonna get you the customer so people exaggerate the quality of their products. And I thought it was considered rude to swear, I mean it’s a sign of being true to yourself but isn’t it still rude?

Hell yeah, I totally agree with this! Authenticity is key when it comes to connecting with customers. People can see through the fake BS, so just be yourself and let your personality shine through. Whether you're a laid-back dude in a t-shirt or a classy dude in a suit, own it! If you're true to yourself, you'll attract the right kind of customers who vibe with your vibe. And if the product is killer, then hey, it'll practically sell itself. So keep it real, keep it honest, and keep slaying those sales!

You’re absolutely right, if you’re not authentic, you’re setting the relationship up on the wrong foot. I’d rather have the right clients than just ‘any’ clients. I wonder how often people feel pressured to change themselves to make a sale, only to realize it leads to the wrong clients. Do you think clients sense inauthenticity?

Ermmm, I get that being yourself is important but sometimes adapting doesn’t mean you are fake. It means you’re connecting better with the customer. It’s not about changing who you are. It’s just knowing how to make the other person comfortable because in the end, it’s about building trust and real relationships

Absolutely! Being yourself on calls is key. If you swear, then swear. If you’re more formal, go for it. The point is, if you land a customer while pretending to be someone you’re not, it’s going to backfire later. Either they’ll be the wrong fit or you’ll hate working with them. Just be you, and you'll attract the right people who get it.

I completely agree with you. In the end, being authentic is the only way to get real customers. Any result you get from pretending won’t last. Honesty really is the best approach!
