The amount of happiness and sense of belonging that I've derived from owning a bike in the cities I visit has far exceeded the money that I've paid for those bikes Bikes are my best happiness-per-dollar ratio I've encountered yet

Yes, I find the bikes give you a much more accurate internal map of a city that’s critical for way finding Bikes are also so much better at keeping you present in the moment than a car Practically much more than four times better than walking

Huge co-sign on this one! Glad to hear it! This is precisely why I hang around here. Bikes have opened many doors for me and connected me with amazing people throughout my life. This simple machine has both humbled me and helped me achieve my best.

I’ve always loved the feeling of cycling in the cities I’ve been to, and where I’ve been able to (despite the risks involved in some of them). That feeling of belonging to the life of a place, to its pace and its everyday day basics. I don't think that the amount of inputs get while cycling in a city can be compared by any other way of land transport. At least for me, cycling in cities has always made me feel alive. Besides, there is no better thermometer than a bike to know the mood or the vibe of a city 😊

Bikes are the best, you can go far and less traveled, narrow roads, pause and start your journey as you like, sit down and enjoy the scenery. Not to mention environmental friendly and also boost your health.

I would add that the ability to rent bikes for short trips has changed how I travel. We visited Stockholm, Copenhagen and Rotterdam this summer and rode all over each city on bikes!
