Farcaster should implement a standard for combining threads into longcasts BECAUSE quality ideas expressed in text often take more than 280 characters. X allows long posts, and they are EXCELLENT. Why should I need a blog or a newsletter to communicate longer ideas in text. One network, unlimited expression.

Client opportunity! :) Revealed preference is most people are fine with a link to a Paragraph or Substack.

A Farcaster client could take a link (maybe an IPFS hash) to longer text and render it in the client while not needing to exceed 280 characters at the protocol level. I think @jam does this maybe?

i like linking out to a long form platform. long posts on x are only necessary bc external linking is punished with deboosting (long tweet reading experience is not great.) also casts can disappear if storage limit is hit so if i'm writing an essay, i prefer it to be archived more permanently somewhere Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

I'm leaning towards the links like paragraph. Reading long threads on X always annoyed me. Then again maybe I'm just biased because I'm trying to write on paragraph.
