Bitcoin developer Ruben Somsen tweeted that the mailing list of BitcoinDev, a Bitcoin development group, was "permanently removed" by Google. Ruben said that the development team did not release any inappropriate content. He questioned the decision, believing that open source development should not be regarded as "unwelcome content" and suggested that it may need to be migrated to other platforms. Block CEO Jack Dorsey forwarded tweets in support of Ruben and questioned Google CEO Sundar Pichai

In a sense, humans have been cyborgs since we began using tools and language. Technology is now what we do. We use clever ways to extend our abilities, strengths, senses and intelligence. We use it to build collective intelligence. And we convert resources and energy from one form to another. Ants build anthills, bees build hives and make honey, humans 'do' technology.

Another day in DC, congress is making good progress toward comprehensive crypto legislation! Good chance to pass stablecoins within weeks, and market structure before August recess.

🙂 All right. Let’s go a few rounds. Our mutual friend @mazmhussain can adjudicate. (1) First: startup societies are based on 100% consent. No one is there who hasn’t chosen to be there. No one is in a hierarchy if they haven’t opted into that hierarchy. Signing the social contract to join a community is much like signing a contract to join a company: you view the docs, make an informed decision, and opt out if it doesn’t work. That right to exit is the fundamental right. (2) Second: not all existing laws are good laws, like the PATRIOT Act. Sunsetting *some* laws doesn’t mean you don’t believe in laws in the abstract. (3) Third: you likely have views on what your ideal community would be. Maybe it’s a vegan village. Maybe it’s modern Amish, where tech is paused at the level of flip phones and people enjoy each other’s company. If you ever decided to build such a peaceful, opt-in community, then we would support you. And that’s what startup societies are about.

My cousins scolded me. I will definitely say directly that there is a problem with junk money like gun. It has nothing to do with making money and losing money. It's better than pretending not to know if there is a problem, which is more harmful to the person who holds it. I can't let my wallet be stolen, and let me save money in it, right?

Releasing ESPLR - a local ETH block explorer. Big problem of ecosystem is reliance on 3rd party RPCs (infura, alchemy, quicknode). Also reliance on 3rd party explorers (etherscan). They track users: it makes system one big panopticon. Local nodes can make the situation better! PC with an archive node only costs $40/mo or $500 one-time. Esplr only needs RPC URL of an archive node. It can view transactions, account balances and token transfer history (unique feature). https://github.com/paulmillr/esplr

According to Bitcoin News, the California Legislature officially submitted the AB-1052 Bill, the "Bitcoin Rights" Act. The bill was proposed by Congressman Juan Carrillo Valencia, chairman of the Bank and Finance Commission of California. It aims to provide legal protection for users of digital assets, including clarifying the self-hosting rights of Bitcoin and other digital assets, and prohibiting public institutions from taxing assets for their use for payment. Or impose restrictions. At the same time, the bill also establishes a legal framework for managing "unclaimed digital assets". In addition, the bill proposes to amend the Political Reform Act of 1974, prohibiting public officials from issuing, sponsoring or promoting any digital assets, securities or commodities.

A personal update! After an incredible 3.5 years at a16z crypto, I've decided to join my brother @3lau to build a new crypto protocol @joinroyal! There are a few other things in the works too—more on that soon 👀 I am deeply grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of the a16z crypto team. @cdixon.eth, @asimpson, @alive, @eddy, @milesjennings, and @kimbatronic, you have created the most extraordinary team in the industry, and I'm endlessly thankful for your mentorship and support over the years. To the investment team (you know who you are): You're not just colleagues—you're family. You are all exceptional, and I've learned so much from each of you. It's been an immense privilege to work with so many brilliant founders. You are the ones on the cutting edge shaping the future of crypto, and you've inspired me more than anyone. I've always had the desire to build—and now I get to do it alongside my brother. It truly doesn't get better than that. What are we building? Stay tuned :)
