Farcaster is simply a Twitter clone with most users outside of the trendy age range of teenagers and college kids History tells us that we won’t know what the new social product will look like until it’s here but it’ll usually look much different than predecessors: FB 2004, Insta 2010, TikTok 2016, ChatGPT 2022?

I love Farcaster but 90% is incredibly egregious. That’s the combined weight of Twitter + Meta (both platforms) + TikTok and the list goes on Unless some insane world event happens — where suddenly 6b people care about owning their data — it’s highly unlikely to even achieve say 30%

I enjoy Farcaster but it’s not going to reduce TikTok and Insta to <10% market share in the next 5 years
