The only useful cryptocurrency have proven to be stablecoins. The “crypto industry” is the world’s largest mafia-run casino.

By definition then Ethereum is useful since it enables stablecoins.

Time to revoke all your Warpcast Rewards, except we can't as onchain transactions are irreversible

Bitcoin was useful for low cost, cross border payments before stablecoins. Also, Monero for private payments.

Mmm although stable coins are the most popular/adopted use case, there are other “proven” use cases that don’t have as much adoption. For instance, cross-border payments.

The whole world is basically a mafia-run casino right now The casino aspects of crypto still get the most attention and headlines. But outside of the trenches there is a lot of promising stuff being built right now imo

besides what dwr said, a lot of the useful cryptos have been overlooked or not created because they don't fit into the US' strict idea of what a security is. If crypto could pay their users profits from their operations, they would be actually useful. I love CRV. It pays like 4% APR today from actual revenue (not ponzinomics) and 14% more from voting incentives. It's been much higher in the past and I think with the next bull will go up again. What shares in the world pay 18%? And in stables! That's useful to me. That supplements my income and I'm happy to participate in their governance. Tokens like UNI are terrified of their fee switch because of the way securities are defined. https://crvhub.com

would say two other really good use cases are community decision making mechanism // bottoms-up coordination for splitting funding pools (quadratic funding) and sustainability through staking mechanisms. we run our entire org and operations + fund open source projects sustainably through just ETH staking rewards at @octant
