I’ve never understood the point of Duty Free shops. Nothing as far as I can tell is noticeably cheaper. Maybe stuff like cigarettes and liquor that I don’t buy? Don’t get it at all.

I am not defending current Duty Frees, but they have saved me sometimes. MY experience... 1) For buying local stuff before departure 2) Specially if you don't have a lot of space 3) Parfums or sunglasses

Mainly it's for high luxury-tax items. I don't buy any of those since I don't drink, so it's not useful for me.

Yes it's mainly the stuff you don't buy that is way cheaper. Perfumes used to be a thing that we'd always go for but that's less of a must-have now that we can get most of their selection at malls

Prob depends on where u live and the typical duty that's being charged (usually on alcohol and cigs as u mentioned)
