Am I the only one who is confused if pilates actually works… or if it’s just a remainder of all the years of strength training? πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Is Pilates more for gaining strength or flexibility? I’ve always thought about getting into it but never pulled the trigger on it

Personally, I find it increases mobility and some flexibility. I also think it creates better mind-muscle connection. But large muscle strength, not really.

Think it's more beneficial for women than man? Seems like it's a much higher percentage of women that do it 100 $degen

I don't think it's more beneficial for women. Just because more women practice is than men ins't enough evidence. First practitioner were men "Joseph Pilates said that the inspiration for his method came to him during World War I, while he was being held at the Knockaloe internment camp on the Isle of Man"

Again personal opinion, I'd say men would benefit from it (esp. regarding mobility/flexibility). But, I also know a lot of my guy friends love their workouts to be super strenuous. So maybe good to complement with pilates.
