I think there’s real value in self care as a way to soothe oneself. Just as a parent would console a child with a cup of warm chocolate milk. But to me, a lot of ‘selfcare’ screams: I am trying so hard to gain back control and won’t face what’s going on inside 🥺 I am all too familiar with this habit.

Started reading 'Transformative Experience' by L.A. Paul. She was also on the Sam Harris podcast last year. They covered decision-making with the limited information you have today. e.g. How can one decide to have kids or not w/o knowing what it's like to be a parent? Highly recommend listening to the episode.

re: financially responsible girlies, I've been using this Chrome extension called Locker. It's a col way to keep wish lists in a nice overview. Since I started I've become so much more mindful of the stuff I want in the moment but stop wanting 2 weeks later. It's called wantlocker.com

There’s a trend on TikTok around mindful spending, anti-retail therapy. I love them, but something doesn’t sit quite right for me.
