I’m very split on the idea of allowing the minting of multiple editions at a time on tortoise. People already here would like it and it would generate more revenue for artists in the short term. But conceptually it seems complicated and brings the tech too much to the forefront. The average consumer doesn’t relate to collecting multiple copies of a song. It makes the collector have to think a lot harder during the process. Rather than just being: I like song -> I collect. I am thinking that long term I should keep it as simple as possible. Thoughts?

my immediate thought was there’s always a few collectors who are wanting to pay more just to support an artist they love and then i read the rest of your cast.. how do you feel about tips? mint fee gets you the song(s) and then adding a tip is more like hey i love your work i want to support you beyond this mint. you could name it differently if tips sounds odd.

You could do “pay what you wish” with a minimum amount and discrete slider and abstract over the number of editions.

there is a lot to say about really good UX, which Tortoise's click to collect is. no thinking. For those that want to collect more you could set a default collection quantity in settings. Still a click to collect experience, but with a multiplier

Apart from what we discussed with my B-side plans, and a couple of other niche circumstances, when I mint a song, I don't necessarily want to select the number of editions, a 1 tap buy makes the process easy and quick - works like a tip for the artist. But I think maybe a mint again style feature could work quite well, I also like the default number of mint idea I saw on this thread.

can hide from UI so they actually a user collects 111 of something but it just shows up as one I like one NFT or one token more. keep it simple and if I want to send more money to the artist I just buy more of the same thing
