base token speculation is limited bc there’s no “best case scenario” most big tokens are uninspiring and it’s not clear that Coinbase actually wants to support this side of the ecosystem

Imo they do Pump defined & refined a style of trading that existed in many ways & places, turned it into a sol-shaping meta We can’t sit around and expect that attention just ‘turns’ to base. product will have to do that same work here

What qualifies as big tokens. I’m happy in Degen Was glad to ass to my higher bag Even growing positions in mfer doginme and mochi seem like an okay way to have exposure to the next stage of the cycle. I still think there’s room for the memes to do well. and eco wise aero and moonwell and others have performed pretty well. I think bigger issue is without a big run in ETH price you don’t have the slosh of liquidity that the sol 8 > 200 arc has created. What did we hit 700-800? and current bounce is a 4x, and reckon not many folks who we’re speculating added at the cycle bottoms vs OGs adding to their positions and happily earning through liquid staking and defi vs searching for 10-20x runners.

I'd love to see more mindful projects making camp on Base Higher shows the way But Degen as well, with all the building in that ecosystem (frames, and dapps on L3) I think we may even need a different name for this type of coins

Imo coinbase is supporting DeFi tokens heavily (invest & list in aero & moon well) and also supportive of memes with content they post. Degen got a listing after turning into a tech project and I’d say it showed already that tokens on Base (also Brett) can get massive valuations aka the ceiling is high. Nevertheless, the pump came from a very bullish core community of degens on Farcaster that believed degen could be a play for base x Farcaster and helped degen go from 0-300m. Ofc crypto twitter, Solana people, funds had to buy in to get it to the B$ valuation - and those aren’t playing the micro shitters on Base. Create select breakout tokens with strong communities and I’m sure Coinbase helps (their people are active here anyways) and the interest from outside will come back because everyone sees the BASE potential (Farcaster to a lesser degree)
