I don't understand the argument that crypto solves the problem of verifying real vs AI-generated content. how exactly does crypto help here? genuinely curious

cryptography lets you sign messages to verify that you are the owner of the private keys associated with your public identity. in the future, we may require any content to have an associated signature from a verified source otherwise it will be treated as false

It doesn’t need to be decentralized anymore than existing public/private key infrastructure already is IMO.

Strong crypto identity requires a solid registry of identities and their relationships. Farcaster, Lens, ENS, etc are several orders of magnitude larger than any of the PGP registries ever got. Think about why that might be.
