And of course there are exceptions. Just like with AI Art, not all of it is simple prompt work. There are complex tools that really put the musician in control. AI has existed for a decade in music production. Production tools aren't the problem. The flooding of our playlists with Lo-Fi AI beats to chill to is what I'm referring to.

I absolutely detest AI music. People used to say "drum machines have no soul" but at least it was people programming the drums and tweaking the knobs. AI music truly has no soul. It will be the brutal public death of the soul that will trigger its beautiful public rebirth. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.

Think about it this way: If I do something -- I want to do it well. Or don't do it at all. Ultimately, doing things is an act of love. If you don't love what you are going to do fully, why even do it? Yes, of course not everything is going to fall into this bucket. But why not maximize the amount of things you love. It can be something simple, like tending to a plant, or sending a message etc Why not? There is almost no downside to this

some takeaways from talking with farcasters irl in /paris yesterday: - in total 11 people showed up (2 directly from the airport!), engaged users are motivated to connect irl - everyone looking for alpha (stated preference as joke, revealed preference seriously); a lot of degen, defi and clanker talk - from content creator pov, goal is audience growth, and warpcast/farcaster/web3 tools in general do not provide enough analytics atm to achieve this - my 3rd year hosting a meetup, first time hearing people express not 100% positive sentiment, mainly on concerns of user growth, lack of client diversity and difficulty for new accounts to break through
