ISO/IEC 10646 celebrates grids as encoders of transferable intelligence. It is a paean to the grid's universal interactions which, as intimated by Turing's revolutionary thesis, culminates in the proposition that *that universality* may be used to reconstruct all human knowledge. Fossae of Siren Delighted to be part of '5x5:Earth' curated by @digitalcoleman and hosted by Cyberforms Art. This is a 1/1 minted on @objktcom There is something uncanny about scale invariance in geology. Take a small rock and expand its texture into the distance of the minds eye and you will see that it replicates those expansive terrains and landforms found all over the earth. Once you cross the blood-brain barrier of dimensionality the extremities of scale move into paradoxical alignment as vast landscapes become visible on the surfaces of small stones and rocks. The technique of height-mapping photographs of minerals (banded agates) from my personal collection (and then texturing that elevation) allows me to interrogate that fractal dimensionality and zoom into the infinite expanses of the minuscule. https://objkt.com/tokens/KT1Jh2EhrtRBrwwUGUNc6o9Y7BMAUaroYmKC/2

To clarify. With AI slop* I am not talking about all AI art per se. There are a few artists out there who are pushing the envelop and doing some really interesting work. *"AI slop", often simply "slop", is a derogatory term for low-quality media, including writing and images, made using generative artificial intelligence technology coined in the 2020s, the term has a derogatory connotation akin to "spam" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_slop

AI slop is just the entertainment division of the 'automated and intelligent' military industrial complex. All that consumer level uptake just provides the capital for the real shit. Perspective ↓↓↓ '‘The machine did it coldly’: Israel used AI to identify 37,000 Hamas targets. Israeli intelligence sources reveal use of ‘Lavender’ system in Gaza war and claim permission given to kill civilians in pursuit of low-ranking militants' Source: The Guardian (I know this story is more than 10 months old)

Although I am somehow a moderator of that channel, the channel admin option does not allow me to invite myself to be a member. 😆 @mic? - I can do all sorts of dangerous things to the channel accept post to it :) )

I return to these often.... Thomas Sopwith's geological models - representations of geological structures in laminated woods including topographic representations of valleys & ridges, strata & fault surfaces. This are modern remakes. The originals were made in the mid 1800s.
