I need some centrist lib friends fr. I am stuck in idiot Texas and also have no one sane to talk about the election with. All my other centrist friends flipped MAGA. In hindsight I wish I talked politics more and didn’t let tech elites suck up all the air

I felt my choices this election were between corrupt and corrupt+stupid. Trump, Elon and RFK are all unfit to be empowered to this degree, especially with 0 checks and balances. I expect a lot of chaos and instability, with 0 self reflection from Democrats along the way.

Sorry :( Come out here to SF bay area. I grew up in Austin and really love the city, but would never move back there in today's climate. (My parents lived next door to Rick Perry for a few years if you want to hear some entertaining stories.)

I stopped politic talk long ago because I couldn’t believe the things people were saying and it made me so angry and confused. It’s helped me enjoy my life but like you i wonder if I should have had these conversations. I guess it’s partially because I recognize I have biases and haven’t figured out how to deal with them. Maybe I need to do some reading on it.

I'm with you. The people that make up the two communities I identify with the strongest, Catholicism and Crypto typically do not align with me politically, (socially conservative but fiscal/foreign-policy liberal). Makes it hard to have good political discussions.

I find this interesting in the sense that it's the same way I feel about a lot of areas of my life. soul searching and discovery are vectors to find your place among others. Your future home may not be solidified yet in the social context; you may also advocate for the things you believe and create and build a community around that. Not every friend can satiate your political niche nor should people agree with things flatly as they read an information source. You don't have to agree even in large swaths. You must advocate for your position and your views. Feel politically castrated? Feel like you don't have a vector to express stoppage in your life? Throw me a DM.
