I also believe most of the tech guys will ditch RFK’s ideas once we start getting into implementation details. Who exactly is enforcing all these rules on food companies about additives/ultra processed foods that are core to the platform? The 3 letter agencies this group crows constantly about getting rid of and say overreach? Who decides what is good and bad? Are you prepared to lose your right to make unhealthy choices? Or be forced to exercise? Exercise mandates a la seatbelt law? It’s easy to be “for health” in the abstract. Less easy to think of solutions that follow our liberal traditions.

Until they start paying for all of my healthcare, I don't want to hear a word from them about my health.

I am unsure where I stand on this issue. With the broadest brush — I don’t want the gov to pay for my healthcare because then they get to manage and choose my healthcare 🫣

This happens now, it’s just that private insurance companies dictate which care patients can receive Very low transparency and accountability in this system

You have some recourse, at least. You and your doctor can fight them and win. This is not the case with entirely government managed. Of course, in both systems the best thing is to be rich, in which case you can subvert them both

You can try but you can also lose the fight and end up with sub-optimal treatment. Agree that the best way to win is to be so rich you don’t have to play the game.

You can also be known. We move mountains for those that we love. People exploit what they merely consider to be of value, but they defend what they love. So, for healthcare, if you become known/beloved widely this can also work as well as being independently rich. Ie, one’s story becomes well known, the go fund me blows up or public pressure causes insurance to change course

Tis so real Cus they care so much about their image in public to even want to ride over someone who is well known in situations like that. But now that we’ve established that being rich and popular could come out of this or could survive well enough in this What’s the hope for the common man?

I didn’t think of that A church can actually be a perfect definition of “a move mountains for those we love” like you mentioned earlier I believe the importance of belonging in a local society or establishment like a church and the likes is not emphasized enough. Associations and connections (no matter how little) are important and should really be emphasized on more often cus there are people who don’t know how important these are or how crucial they could be in life.
