Back pain makes people do crazy stuff. And post-fusion (which it looks like from the xrays) is even less fun. The stiffness and spasms can be paralyzing. I've scrubbed into a few fusion surgeries, and I personally am not a fan.

He's in ai so not surprising, but if it's true about him getting a pretty severe back injury and a partial spinal fusion are what led to this, not surprising. He's pretty ideologically inconsistent from what I've seen, his take on Japan banning sex toys is my favorite

I don’t think ideology is really needed for a motive here. Everyone who has had to deal with a health insurer has considered violence against them for at least a moment. He just had the will to follow through.
