The battle of digital longevity/healthspan platforms will likely come down to UI that keeps patients interested once they have exhausted the novelty of it all. Incentives will be everything.

Anxiety a factor too I think. Reminded of a rich man I saw on x a bit back who claimed the only way to stay healthy at 45+ was 2 Function Healths and 1 Full body MRI per year šŸ˜‚

Would think so, definitely. Especially once one finds out about a non-modifiable factor (rising Lp(a), ApoE) and then sees the impact of that slowly coming to fruition on those biannual labs.

There is no way thatā€™s worth it to me. I have a similar screening burden for my BRCA and I find that to be onerous. I find it insane someone would opt in. To me the person who would do that already almost certainly has healthy behaviors and is just being paranoid At the end of the day, Iā€™m really losing my enthusiasm for health and wellness. Thereā€™s no point for me to pay attention to new developments and innovations. I will never get access to them, so why bother getting excited? I am below the line And When I look at those who do this stuff, I am further demotivated. I donā€™t want to be 100 and stuck with a bunch of businessmen

Just jumping in from no where as response. Health care system is rigged by businesses man here . Still from my 90-100 years old patient I learn one thing stay motivated. Staying motivated and having a sense of purpose can significantly impact life expectancy. Research indicates that individuals with a strong sense of purpose are less likely to die from heart, circulatory, or blood conditions, potentially adding several years to their lifespan. Additionally, optimism and motivation are associated with ā€œexceptional longevity,ā€ increasing the likelihood of living past age 85. While specific numbers vary, studies suggest that adopting habits tied to motivation, such as regular physical activity or maintaining a positive outlook, can extend life expectancy by 5 to 10 years or more. We canā€™t give up then we loose to all those businesses man.

i always found motivation + purpose super interesting for longevity but also living an overall fulfilling life as you age. i remember watching a documentary on okinawa and some of the 100+ people they interviewed talked about having a purpose from the multi-generational community. they would look after all the kids in the community and it gave them purpose. lots of other factors contribute to longevity, but that bit always stuck out to me.
