Long term ROI > Short term ROI Yeah - it’s so incredibly easy to say. It is so hard to prioritize and take a long term, there are so many pitfalls, so many distractions. It’s like Odysseus in The Odyssey, so many sirens, so many things along the way, temptations, resistance both external and internal to yourself

There are so many things you can do that boost short term clout or make your life easier along the way, but I think if you take a long term view it’s not the quickest at all to climb the short term mountains.

Because of this it’s worth taking some short term ROI wins in the interim if it allows you to continue playing the long games you’re in

You have to run slow to run fast. Short term represents hedonism while long term represents stoicism.

Prioritizing long-term ROI is like navigating a ship through turbulent waters, constantly resisting the temptation to steer off course. It requires immense discipline, like Odysseus tying himself to the mast to avoid the sirens. The distractions and short-term gains are always there, but staying focused on the bigger picture—despite the internal and external resistance—is what ultimately leads to lasting success. It’s not easy, but that’s what makes it so worthwhile in the end. 😜

For my experience I distinguish the investment in two assets: time and money. When I started to think to retire from the business world I decided to go “all in” with my time and spent 2 years completely absorbed by my goal. Scarifying family and everything that was an obstacle to my LT goal. When we talk about time, I think the ROI should be a ShortTime goal. IMO sometimes the LT goal is just a summoning of many ST goals.

The longer something takes to do, the longer it stays with you. Which is most often than not beneficial. Short-term is easy but ephemeral.

Man, it’s so hard sticking to the long term when there’s no greens in sight There would definitely be days where you feel low, and thoughts of giving it all up, overwhelms you What keeps you going on those days ??

the journey toward long-term ROI is full of challenges, just like Odysseus facing the sirens staying disciplined and focused can be one of the hardest parts, especially when short term gains are so tempting But in the end, the long-term rewards make it all worth it
