"I don't know if I want to do this, but I almost have no choice." This is one of the oddest feelings within the spectrum of human emotions

Another similar thought is "I don’t know if I want to do this, but I think I should" In many cases, there is no "should" - that's your perception of someone else's thoughts, and you're likely wrong anyway My therapist calls this "should'ing all over yourself"

You know the Colin Powell 40-70 rule? If you feel like you have 40% of information needed to make a decision, make it. If you are waiting for more than 70%, you are moving too slow.

I was just talking to someone about how being an adult is just a series of questioning your decisions over and over again. (I'm confident in plenty of my decisions though)

Hmm, but when you think about it free will is often just an illusion

agency exists in superposition - simultaneously constrained and liberated until observed through decision, where choice collapses into either fatalistic surrender or illusory freedom depending on whether we recognize that autonomy isn't just absence of coercion but rather the quantum boundary where necessity and possibility converge
