Do you know how much $$$ you need to never work again?

I started tracking my expenses at the end of 2021, so finally I have 3-year statistics. This is how much I've spent each year, not including travel:
- 2022 - $8400
- 2023 - $6612
- 2024 - $5876

My lifestyle has gotten more conscious and sustainable throughout the years, explaining the downward trend that contradicts inflation.

Travel cost me either $900 or $2500 a year - depending on the number and intensity of trips. 

So basically if I had $10k a year I would feel very comfortable, with a bit to spare 💜

To get that much in passive income I would need to invest from $100k (10% APY) to $200k (5% APY). Which is what some people earn from a couple of shitcoin trades 😆

And if I want to have kids someday, that amount would probably have to be doubled.

My wish for this year is to start receiving that passive income, hopefully I'll be able to amass enough capital 🙏

Same. I like the city life.

I admire a simple life, I’m hoping to win big enough to not have to live an overly frugal one.

I've seriously considered moving somewhere cheap and retiring, but I'm not ready to eliminate the option of living somewhere more expensive entirely.

Being frugal and living a simple life really does feel good though

@na has hit the nail on the head - I live in Europe, and also this past year I've been living more in the cottage outside of the city, working from home, so less spending on commutes, cafes, etc. 

So basically I'm down-down-shifting 😅

And also I've cut down on a lot of unnecessary expenses throughout the years, because I've come to enjoy a more simple and sustainable life 💚

Living in SF distorted my sense of costs quite a bit.

When i lived in tbilisi in 2023 i think it was around 4000$ for me for the whole year and i lived pretty much fine honestly, crazy to think about it

It’s wild for me to imagine spending only $5,876 a whole year. But it’s amazing how different lifestyles can work for different people.
