I am deeply conflicted and disillusioned with crypto. But I love Warpcast. Idk, there is something about this place.

Same but the difference is I've been working in this industry for 6+ years and the disillusionment just gets worse (there's like a handful of projects/ chains that seem to make an actual difference which keep me going but the rest is just disappointing)

tbf ur not the only one. I still see some inherent potential in the tech itself, but so far it's failed to live up to the change I want to see in the world. Kinda just in the space now to try and make money. But yeah, still love the community here.

Understandable. I’m still here because I have seen that a small amount of good can overcome mountains of bad. All it will take is for one good implementation of a web3 login in a popular app, giving users power and ownership instead of corporations, and the dominos will start to fall. I can be patient, because there’s no other alternative. Corporations won’t do this on their own, and crypto is the only path to it happening. So I stay, and I advocate for good to win over evil.

I'd like to think the disillusionment is manufactured, I hope I'm right I feel it too, I choose to wait and see

I totally get the conflict. Crypto has its wild side, but Warpcast’s vibe feels different. Sometimes the best part of a space is its community

Everything in crypto disappoints me. I like the technology, but the humans who have the most power over it are terrible human beings, greedy, monopolistic, extractive, elitist, and thirsty for power you name it. But that's a fact of life, the owner class is parasitic, as it has always been, in crypto it's just a bit more acute than in the rest of economic domains. But yeah, tech is just a tool that can be used for empowering society, but don't trick yourself into thinking crypto is doing that, it is absolutely not.

One of the big problems with crypto is that everyone tries to make it too visible instead of simply using the underlying technology for all of the incredibly applications it can have. Farcaster is one of few systems that has masterfully blended the visibility and “excitement” of crypto with positive-sum value add.

You're not alone. Many of us stay because of the people, not the price charts.
