Has anyone raised on or invested through RUVs? What's good/bad about them? Would you recommend AngelList or something else?

We used a RUV for all of the angel investors in Merkle. 100+ people into a single line item. Would highly recommend.

I raised using an RUV and it was great. - we used angel list - $305k from friends and family - low fees (maybe cost us $1500 to process the transaction and manage all users AML/KYC/accreditation) - money in bank quick

- have raised and invested - do recommend, makes things simpler and cheaper when raising if you have 10+ angels - used Angellist Growth tier

yes both sides. On the raising side it absolutely great. Used AL but I think they changed their pricing more recently to bundle it w some other offerings that I don't know anything about

I didn’t use an RUV and I regretted it. Harder to wrangle everyone and get term sheets signed, was more time consuming, and now got individuals on cap table. Will use one going forward

Raised part of our round on an RUV primarily for family and friends writing $1-10k cheques highly recommend, helps keep the Carta/Pulley subscription as low as possible as well lol.

We used an RUV for the XMTP Labs Series A and it was so smooth. Highly recommend. We used AngelList for it.

It’s all a question of how many angels you are doing. AngelList has all the compliance and logistics figured out. Fear of new companies is if they will be around in 5-7 years.
