I recently began using the Waking Up app to develop a regular practice. I've practiced on & off (more off tbh) since spending time in Mongolia more than 20 yrs ago, where I practiced w/ a monk in Ulaanbaatar. I later did a 10-day vipassana retreat, which was amazing, but have struggled to practice consistently at home.

Hi Jon, there are many different ways to meditate. The ones I know seek to calm the flow of thoughts and tune us into the present moment. To do this, practices can use rhythmic breathing, singing, walking, music, etc.

Chi Gong (I Jin Jin + La Chi practices), Tai Chi (8 Forms Parchi practice), throat singing, riding a motorcycle, looking in deep night sky full of stars... But actually for me meditation works everywhere - doesn't matter if I play with kids or washing plates)
