Yeah the driver/rider safety is a tough one to imagine solving elegantly.  

How does tax fraud come into play?  Drivers not reporting income, or something else?

I assume the value would be cutting out the take rate from the middleman (Uber) from the equation. So better prices for riders and more revenue for drivers, which both would want I’m sure.  

I’m not necessarily saying there aren’t reasons this is unrealistic, was just curious what the glaring issues are

I can’t think of anything that regular consumers would want that is made better by being onchain?

Oracle problem - how do you handle conflicts in the real world? You need some new team to do mediation, but who chooses/vets the moderators?

Once you've solved the real world oracle issues you have a company about as big as uber but with a worse structure.
