Social media is a gauge of the evolution of human civilization and in turn has a reflexive effect on it. We use it to understand what is happening, and it also records the true caliber of human civilization in real time, with reverse output and manipulation of a significant group of people. We cannot discuss our mirror image from a higher perspective, we can only dance with it.

The true boundaries of social media lie far beyond the product. It is more like a social utility of the information age, an amalgamation of ideologies, values, politics, culture, social events, business and technology, and other elements of the times. It often starts with a simple product + a simple user base, but by the time it grows into a behemoth it has become the Ship of Theseus!
