The thing that gets me about vibecoding is that in order to go fast, you have to relinquish the desire to understand everything / read the code thoroughly This is good in the short run (eg. you have to ship something quick) but bad in the long run because: 1. It’s intellectually less gratifying 2. The tech debt will murder you

Vibe coding is like drugs. You’re borrowing from your future happiness

Vibe coding is excellent for when you have a very clear picture of what you want to create as Ai has a really bad tendency of overengineering things and writing too much code. If you don't really know what you want you'll end up in a complete mess as ai will be forced to make those assumptions for you.

What is it called if you’re still checking all the logic? It’s faster than coding it yourself but it’s still got to be different

I’m starting to lean into anti-vibe coding and just relentlessly reading documentation to countertrade the exact long term trade offs you mentioned

ive realized that vibecoding is not coding, its managing. if the code is bad, you can't fix it. you can only yell at the dev or maybe fire them. so its good if you wanna get more done than you can as a solo dev, but now you need to get good at hiring/managing instead of coding https://warpcast.com/grin/0x36ce9fca

I dont fully agrre with this take. I dont know if its called Vibe coding, but you can really build some complex apps by brainstorming and planning with LLMs rather than instructing the model to just do stuff
