my 30th bday is coming up and last year my bday gift to myself was a solo trip to costa rica for those who know, this plan got wrecked a few days after i landed in costa rica lmao so we're gonna go all out for 30 and redeem ourselves!! what is the freaking coolest place you've been to (that is safe for a solo female traveler) and why did you like it? (open to most travel vibes - just not a huge luxury person or anything like vegas)

my favorite place is still /japan everything is excellent, cheap, and customer service is the best in the world to me quite safe as a tourist

Brazil - I’ve never been, but I really want to go to Carnival and visit all the coolest places. It might not be the best place to travel alone, but I know some people who have done it before. They said you can choose some safe places to stay and avoid walking alone late at night.

+1 to Japan but also Peru. I’ve been to Argentina, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and I would say Peru is favorite Latin American country so far. - $$$ quality food for $ - stellar hospitality - beautiful art and textiles - llamas + alpacas

Although I'm a bit scared about the stories of creepy guys in public places, don't know if they're overblown or not...

I think Barcelona is my favorite so far. It has everything no matter what you’re into. Art, architecture, great food, beaches, wineries, and minimal language barrier. You can’t go wrong.
