report back, i enjoyed Nadia Asparouhova's reports on getting into jhanas though if you haven't read, probably better to read after your retreat to not bias the experience too much!

The most important thing: don't expect much. I'd say the best advice at the beginning of jhanic practice is to put as much effort as you can without losing your smile. Seems like this particular retreat might have a very loose definition of 'jhana', though, so I'll stop here as to not generate confusion.
