Taiwan is so fascinating. Many know it supplies 90% of the world’s chip capacity. Lesser known: - strong democracy (~70% voter turnout) - high social trust (one of the lowest covid fatality rates) All despite being a military dictatorship less than 40 years ago and being the second-most religiously diverse countries on earth.

There’s a great segment in “Plurality: the future of collaborative technology and democracy” on Taiwan! https://www.plurality.net/v/eng/

High social trust (one of the lowest covid fatality rate)?? How does social trust reflect collective health status?

a social trust would be nice I was in NY at the peak of the Covid and I know firsthand the price of closing the city too late the West need to re-learn from the countries like Taiwan a lot of things we are supposedly good at 100 $degen

Voter turnout in Japan is 55%, but among people under 30 it's 30%. Young people's indifference to politics is directly linked to major problems such as the declining birthrate and aging population caused by politicians' preferential treatment of elderly households and neglect of young people. As a Japanese person, I would like to learn from Taiwan.
