Taiwan is so fascinating. Many know it supplies 90% of the world’s chip capacity. Lesser known: - strong democracy (~70% voter turnout) - high social trust (one of the lowest covid fatality rates) All despite being a military dictatorship less than 40 years ago and being the second-most religiously diverse countries on earth.

Voter turnout in Japan is 55%, but among people under 30 it's 30%. Young people's indifference to politics is directly linked to major problems such as the declining birthrate and aging population caused by politicians' preferential treatment of elderly households and neglect of young people. As a Japanese person, I would like to learn from Taiwan.
