Another thing he mentioned is that he thinks Farcaster's development is less open than Bluesky. IIRC ATP doesn't have any other clients and repositories other than Bluesky. Devs can only participate in Bluesky via taggers and list providers.

he raises a really good point about coffeeshops. which leads me to consider how much work has gone into Ethereum to get it to the point that being in an onchain coffeeshop will be trivial. the work is anything but trivial, even if the experience will become so convenient that it's taken for granted.

The part about FC starts at 17:44, for anyone who wants to watch it. He says it’s a casino because it was “made into a game” because “cryptocurrency contests” were added. He gives the example where you “make a bet when you join a group and you can lose the bet money if you get content reported and stuff”. Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t even fully understand his point and it sounds like a misrepresentation of what is happening on FC. It would be valid criticism if everything on FC were all about farming crypto. But fortunately it’s not.
