I've never been one to build toy/side projects I write ideas down, work through them in my head and do research but rarely actually build them I focus my building time and most of my energy on my work projects (My contract makes it harder to build side stuff anyway) Any tips on how to get into building on the side?

I actually did build one side project in the past: A Tumblr MacOS client called PostWarden. I started building it when I quit my job in Germany (had to give 3 months notice) and continued built it in between jobs. I launched it in the Mac App Store for a few months. It became the top social app before I took it down

What’s your underlying reason for wanting to do side projects?

It's really hard when you have a full-time job, especially like me, working at a startup, but it's doable. An hour here and an hour there, sometimes before going to bed or on the weekend, takes dedication. Most people prefer to spend their free time in other ways, but I like it though.

Would recommend buildspace.so they have a solid curriculum to take you from idea to toy to off local host, it’s fun educational and vibes are 💯

Just dedicate an hour or two everyday to focus on this, take small steps everyday. Over time they’ll def compound.

Find others, and build together. It's a good way to distribute the responsibility if you don't have too much extra time.

I go with no code tools for prototyping. Currently Bubble, and learning flutterflow next. Create dummy user accounts, generative activity for them urself, see how the functioning app feels with hypothetical users. If u have opportunity get first users to use with u watching in person

is there something you want to build? what are your ideas like? maybe you aren’t being honest in what you’re interested in building?
