@drakefjustin's work is incredibly valuable to ethereum's future, especially those of us who care about keeping the protocol decentralized and secure long-term and fighting against the zoo of technical bloat. The beam chain roadmap got criticism for the "2029" date, but what that criticism misses is that the beam chain roadmap is a completely separate and parallel workstream from the work that is happening already to meet users' needs in the short term (basically, scaling blobs, where @dankrad has for years played a leading and invaluable part) In 2025, we need blobs (and L1 cost reductions like EIP-4444). In 2026, we need more blobs. @fradamt @dankrad and many others are heroes for pushing forward the research here. By 2030, we need other things: * Long-term robust economics * Long-term robust staking decentralization * A clean and simple protocol, something worthy of a chain that aspires to be a neutral global base layer. This week: - Pre-2.0 mints are _done_ (prerequisite for 2.1) - 2.0.6-p3 released with high speed VDF implementation - Milestone 3 on testnet, next stage of testing for M3 coming up along with S3 compatible API and KMS compatible API previews (Both will be used on Quorum, to enable large file transfers and to allow DAOs to set up spaces with group control over an MPC wallet, demo pictured, coming soon!) Next up: More QoL improvements for Quorum, Q name service, Milestone 5, and then... 2.1

Obsidian 1.8.4 is now available with a few bug fixes. - Fixed iOS issue with black screen after install. - Fixed pressing Enter in a blockquote continues the blockquote correctly. - Fixed canvas preview images failing to display. - Fixed bug causing some plugins to not focus the correct tab when they open a file.
