open q: what’s the best / most respectful way to offer product feedback eg. there are a few products I used or heard more about at Basecamp/FEST and I’d like to offer my critiques but not in a bashing manner have thought one cool avenue could be @0xdesigner style concepts for parts of products I’d like to see reworked

I might’ve also just answered my own question by writing this, but curious to see what folks say here

these seem to be the two main options lol(doing a whole design is really only worth it if you want to make content out of that) https://warpcast.com/pugson/0xc4894610 https://warpcast.com/destiner/0xdb309ca5

Product concepts are cool but a lot of work on your end, added benefit is content for you to post so depends how much you value that I typically do a quick screen recording of my first impressions of the app talking through what I like, don't like, am confused by, etc. and send it to the founder via DM or email

Depends on the receiver and how open they are. For @percs just shoot the feedback. I'm all ears!!

Sometimes I receive feedback that I didn't ask for and don't want, especially because the feedback is usually coming from someone who doesn't have enough context or backstory to provide anything meaningful, so it's just tiring for me. When I do want feedback, I go to specific people who's perspective I value for that circumstance, and those experiences are almost always incredibly meaningful.

As long as you are kind and the feedback is meaningful, it doesn’t matter how you deliver it. If their ego cares so much about whether you posted in public or private, they’re ngmi

show don't tell. you can give your opinion, but a lot of people can do that, its not actionable. if you can show them the problems, making it self-evident, then you won't hurt any feelings. loom, screenshot, anecdotes are all useful

I think just being genuine and thorough is really all that matters. @jpfraneto.eth shared some feedback they got on /vibra today that was really cool to see. Your idea sounds really cool to but also like work lol.
