Channel specific badges would be useful. I would use this to give extra status to members of a book club for example. Better native AMA functionality, including a way to sort replies by time so guests can see responses as they come in. Channel specific invites and a public landing page to aggregate links or FAQ.

Idk if this already exists in some for but it would be great to have a button where users can request membership of a channel. Hosts could specify the rules to check when the button is pressed (e.g. Farscore, or no checks at all). This would make it much easier and more obvious for new users. If that is too much work for now, a dedicated section that describes how a channel can be joined would be good. This way, hosts would perhaps be more compelled to specify the rules for joining.
