This is not true. If you cast outside of a channel, it just goes to your followers. Casting in a channel gives it the potential to be seen by more people.

you’re missing the point I have the same feeling as @zkp casting with no channel feels like kind of a waste unless you’re an auto follow account when users are coming up with hacks like creating their own version of /no-channel there might be an opportunity

Maybe because after the channels update most of the channel on default mood . And his ACC is still small in terms of following so he didn't rank up to ppl to see ? Idk but maybe that's the case

Usually I avoid posting in channels, good that they are trying to counter bot by gating them but too much drama for me

Since the channel upgrade, I think some channels feel very quiet in terms of engagement. Is that due to no mods or automods?

I think you should keep it this way but add an option to mute posts from a given channel that way even if you follow someone you don’t have to see their toe pics, but also they don’t inherently lose potential toe pic loving fan crossover

it will be seen by more people but it must follow channel norms. sometimes i want to just poke fun at something. for example if i want to make a bitcoin joke that ethereum people might enjoy, where does that cast go? it feels a little fragmented

Some people keep casting multiple times the same stuff in different channels. I do that sometimes. Do you think being able to make one cast for more than one channel makes sense?

As a newer user in the past few months who has only recently become more active, I can appreciate what @zkp is saying. I have zero social score and farcaster doesn’t show my cast to anyone. If I cast outside of a channel it will get zero engagement. Might look at balancing bot filters against new actual users just trying to use the platform.

This is interesting. I never casted out of channels because I thought to risk zero engagement. I would give a try next time. Thank you 🙏🏻

Is there a way for a cast in one channel to also be casted in a 2nd channel by tagging that 2nd channel?
