some corner cases where its useful - you're leaving for a long trip (multiple months) and dont want it to suddenly stop running due to a power outage - hold down the power button to reset a fully stuck computer

Iโ€™d likely leave it on more if certain apps didnโ€™t leak memory and chew up my ram. Even if you close those apps, sometimes nothing cleans out the cobwebs like a fresh restart.
