Same. Physics and philosophy both seem great.

I majored in philosophy and it definitely made me a better writer. That being said, I only did it because I knew how to code. Otherwise it would have been a much higher risk decision Anecdotally, 1/3rd of my philosophy cohort went into law or PhDs, another 1/3rd went into tech, and the last 1/3rd is in nonprofits

I was so jealous of people like Dan Shipper who already had a programming background and majored in Philosophy while doing a tech startup on the side. I still want to learn more physics.

I studied chem and had a blast. Was horrible at chem lab, but loved the applied math side of things.

Philosophy turned out well for me. Like physics, broadly applicable if you do it right, but a dead end into teaching if you don’t.

I'm finishing up my philosophy degree after a two-decade pause. Thinking about picking up a physics degree next. Gonna spend the rest of my life just chasing my curiosity.

Meh, degrees teach you more than merely subject matter. You learn how to research, use reason/logic/evidence, form an argument, test hypotheses, write, organize a paper, present your work to peers, etc

I knew I would not use my degree for work, so I chose nursing science to learn about human anatomy and understand wellness.

Absolutely! Physics delves into the fundamental laws that govern our universe, while philosophy explores the deep questions about existence, knowledge, and reality. Together, they provide a more comprehensive understanding of the world around us. It's exciting to see how they complement each other!

Experimental Psych major here: I got college credit for going to a ski resort for two years for research. The lift tickets(granted to us) to get where we needed to go for an hour or so for that didn’t expire till the evening so i got some good snowboarding in with credit.

It’s crazy that most people don’t actually use their degree. Although school is supposed to teach you the basics things to help you survive even if that’s not what we see anymore.
