Yeah this is 100000% accurate. 

It also makes growing a pure content business so much harder.

Channels have lots of potential as...marketing channels

my curiosity is piqued a bit on this. whether decentralized social apps put the same kind of squeeze on external links that we see on the big centralized platforms like Twitter with LinkedIn links, Medium links, etc..
