Reminder, if you're casting in your own home feed, channel or replying to people you who follow you, the spam model doesn't focus on that. It's only if you're excessively replying to people who don't follow you (with no engagement).

I really try to understand what you guys are trying to build, still don't get it, the obsessive focus on moderation and silencing the new users is weird... It's a system to get rid of new people... New user join (doesn't know all the restrictions and non-written weird rules you have in place) Gets forced to follow a bunch of your friends with huge followings. He interacts in maybe silly or uninteresting ways with them and then GET SPAM LABELLED! and it's a bye bye. Why don't you take a more friendly approach to new users? Also the spam label is PERMANENT?!?!?!?! So anyone who has an spam label now better just create a new account? Also, FARMING: Bro let people farm in peace!!! Teach your friends to use the mute button!

feels like a lose-lose for new accounts. new users have been consistently told that replies are how they can get noticed. it’s more likely than not that they’ll initially not get reactions to those replies most of the time

appreciate this have u seen any community voting systems for “not a spammer” work at scale? wondering if this human element will eventually be in consideration if the algo labels ppl who are just starting out, casting good content, yet maybe try to engage and go unnoticed for a period of time

I know this is for a small % of users but would be cool to factor in whether or not the person being replied to has seen the reply when deciding to label a reply as “unengaged” (given that so many of these replies from newer accounts are below the fold)

I genuinely appreciate any form of engagement, even if it’s just a few spam comments from people I don’t know. In a way, it’s reassuring to see that even spammers took notice. It certainly feels better than no interaction at all. If I posted and got absolutely no engagement, I’d feel discouraged, but as long as there’s attention—even spam—I’m motivated to stay engaged.
