If I were the FC CMO: Project a unified mission and vision for the platform and give updates on the who, what, why, when and how of the roadmap. Communicate best practices for communities and devs building on the platform. Build relationships with specific channels and clients. Through content mostly.

I don't think you need a traditional CMO but one that transcends traditional marketing—it’s about championing your mission. As you scale, the challenge isn't to maintain but to amplify the brand loyalty & the authentic movement you've already cultivated (IMHO the envy of any marketer).

Study the four P’s of marketing, developed decades ago. Today they’ve expanded to 7-10 P’s depending on the org. Most people, even marketers, only know one P. Aka Promotion. The CMO would outline which P’s matter and develop a plan to handle them. Then execute.
