As a channel owner / moderator, if you could enforce narrowcasts for everyone casting in your channel, would you turn that on? i.e. you don't want distribution in home feeds beyond people explicitly following your channel Please reply with examples!

can users break the narrow cast by recasting it or quote casting it? would be cool if that was also restricted to only in the channel

Can the channel owner or moderator limit seeing those cast to only the channel feed or the channel followers even if the casters didn't toggle it on ?

would try it if there was a way to break out e.g. - /neynar has narrow casts by default - someone posts a cast that I think is worth people knowing outside of /neynar e.g. something cool they built; recasting shows it outside the channel

i got /nomasters to start sharing niche metal songs. never used it because i didnt want to spam 99% of followers. big fan of narrowcasting being an option for *both* user and channel owners would enable for super niche channels i own. would make them feel more like a *place* and less like a tag or label on casts

Example from me: A light client that is built around a specific channel. When using the light client user's casts will only be seen by others following the channel. This way they can spend more time in that cozy corner without worrying about it affecting their fc following. But then on Warpcast casts in the channel are shared with everyone for exposure.

This feature would be super important for things like games so people's timelines don't get flooded with "attack north" etc. I think a lot of people haven't been using channels for noisy stuff lately because it would be annoying AF, but "narrow by default" would help enable that use case.

I’d like some channels (that aren’t mine, in these examples) to enforce it, such as: - /tradle - /wordle - /farcastles … and generally all similar channels that report personal game results / automated casts / mints and just end up spamming the home feed. For channels that are just niche topics but don’t show repetitive content like above, I think turning this feature on by default would hurt their discoverability and broadening of people’s interests.

Yeah, niche bot commands in-channel should only be viewable to people who follow the channel and want to see them. Could enable more experimentation without the fear of other users seeing you, your channel, or followers as spammy. I think we'll start seeing more and more channel bots with interesting functionality the way Discord and Telegram have.

I think that I would leave to people the free will on it💆🏻‍♂️ i.e. you make a valuable cast about an important update on something, and maybe you didn’t realize the channel was narrowcasted, so the value gets a bit rekt. My catch on this one is transparency. Maybe a simple ‘Channel Narrowcast ON’ in channel info should do the trick🖤

I’m trying to think of when I would use this, but I’m coming up short. I would prefer private channels like gated chats where you can’t read the content without an NFT. I’d rather let people decide where they want to post.

It's said that the spam label has been removed, but accounts that were labeled as spam still seem to be in the same state as when they had the label. Why is that? 2.
